Hello Friends!

This is The Campus Beet. We are a group of inspired students trying to start a sustainable cafe on Western Michigan University’s campus. The purpose of this organization is to lay a foundation for the development of a student-led campus café through establishing a structure that the café can run off of, promoting the concept, attaining the needed start-up materials and funds, and generating campus awareness.

Our commitment is to offer fresh, healthy, delicious, and ecologically sound food in a socially responsible manner to build local economy and support WMU community. The cafe will facilitate space for student discussion, art, music and culture and offer an engaging space for thought, study, and growth. It’s student-run structure will allow students the chance for leadership and development through consensus-based non nonhierarchical management. Once the cafe exists there will also be inter-disciplinary internship and employment opportunities.

Our weekly meetings are on Wednesdays at 7PM in the Bernhard Center Cafe dining room.
