Whats New

First off, we would like to share with you some exciting news!

The Peoples Food Co-op sold an herb/spice mixture created by local resident Lois Greenberg during last weeks Art Hop with all profits going to benefit a local food project.  When put to a vote from 67 members, The Campus Beet Won! The spice mixture sold fast with 743.51$ going to the Campus Beet!  We will put that money towards our ultimate goal of opening a Cafe.

During our farmers feast, many of the speakers mentioned how important the PFC has been to the Kalamazoo local organic food scene.  We couldn’t agree more and we are so glad to have the support of the PFC.

Thank you so much Lois, the PFC, and everyone who bought the spice mixture!

For more details- here is an article in the Kalamazoo Gazette.

Here are some photos from the farmers feast –  Thanks to everyone who helped us pull this off and to everyone who came out!  We know it was a long wait for the food, but hopefully you enjoyed our farmer speakers and the delicious local dinner!

We will be looking at feedback this week and will put all of your comments into consideration for our next event.

Once again, thank you for supporting The Campus Beet!

About The Campus Beet

The Campus Beet is a registered student organization at Western Michigan University trying to organize and develop a student-run sustainable cafe. We aim to source more local and organic food and serve more vegetarian, vegan, gluten free meals while building a space for student art, music and culture. We have weekly meetings on Wednesdays at 7PM in the Bernhard Center dining room if you would like to help.
